Sixth grade authors look at different types of writing

Today in writer's workshop, we looked at the different types of writing our young authors will be doing -- informative, persuasive, and story-writing.  They have compiled a list of topics they can write about in their writer's notebooks, and they chose one of those for their first piece.

In science, we made some observations about the characteristics of matter using balloons and sugar in water.
